Yup. Paintball, or Reball, witch is paintball with rubber bullets. where? at my college. I mean, tell me of other colleges around who have EVER made such an event. It was awesome. And it was free. Win/win/win situation, as I won every game i played, and even got MVP for a couple of rounds. Yeah that was the highlight of the day, that and the haircut. But the haircut is more of a personal level.
SO, it's G33k Wednesday. see more TDW Geeks Yup. October 4 we'll get another iPhone on the market. My predictions? higher price (here an iPhone 4 costs about 650€ for the cheapest model) and maybe 1 or 2 new features. Sorry, for me the iPhone is no more than a fashion statement. You want a GREAT phone? Samsung galaxy SII. 'nuff said. Plus that's Android. I really don't see the point of getting an iPhone when you can get so much more of a phone for such a price. At least here in Portugal.
Moving on to dancing. Movement Lifestyle. Created by Shaun Evaristo, it's sort of an agency for choreographers, and they ocasionally put out some good dance pieces, and go to competitions and stuff. this is an exhibition from this summer.
And one more music taken from a Sh*tkingz set. What can I say? they have a great taste.
2 days without being a 'bat' in college. Feels so good to use regular clothes. And to be able to listen to some music on the way to college/home. And I'm getting new Headphones (What a deal, 30€ instead of 70€ for buying online) so it is good that I'm able to give them some use. Oh, I finally bought myself a sweater from my college. Good stuff, Pride stuff.
Moving forward to Epic Meal Time Businessssss.
Bitches & Mac & Cheese. Good stuff.
Now I'm gonna show you someone that is much more than just a hella great dancer. Salah, from France. This guy is a comedian, is an actor, and is an awesome dancer. This is from 2006, not the best quality, but good enough for you to see the talent (mind you, this man won France's got talent in 200X) It's broken into 2 parts cuz youtube wouldn't allow more than 10min per video.
Music, today Something different from usual, and the cover of this album is still making me wonder it's logic. Take your conclusions. BTW this was on one of Sh*tkingz performances.
And finally. Sorry for missing a couple of days. See ya tomorrow. PEACE
Finally a day for me to sleep until lunch, and do nothing the whole day. I was needing this break from the new routine at college. So good to just be in the interwebz through the afternoon. No real important news .. just that the DJ Mag top 100 DJ's list has yet to be announced.. and supposedly it should be out at 00h00 today .. running a bit late then..
Today some guy dancing to some dubstep. Just found this and it is very, very good.
I'm thinking of making this post today on a simple level. As I am so tired. I woke up at 5h45 AM to go to college to 'reserve' tables for lunch, witch almost ended up on a fight between other people doing the same. and then the whole day initiating the freshmen, and wearing those infernal shoes all day long. I am so tired i could sleep while standing up and I would wake up refreshed. And tomorrow will be the same thing. This is hard. But it's for a reason.
Starting off with the awesome sauce. dance. By Ian Eastwood. enjoy. BTW epic t shirt design.
Audio. First off, be sure to check out DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ list witch is due in about 2 hours. My bets are on Swedish house mafia and Armin van buuren for the top places. And now something for you to enjoy right now.
Day three. the slowest ever. But for me the first ever contact with many of 'my' freshmen. so tomorrow is the first real initiation day. 20+ freshmen expected (witch is already roughly the number of people that passed last year's initiation, and there are still 2 more bunches of people coming from different college applying stages. So this could be good. And good old J is going to wake up at 6 am just to go to college to 'reserve' some tables for the lunchtime. And like J, tenths more of 'doctors' from all 'Praxis' from my college. This should be interesting. (some day I should explain better these academic terms in English. Someday..) Tomorrow will be a very very interesting day.
It's Geek Wednesday! Today's Story.
Video games that help scientists. Foldit, created in 2008 by the University of Washington, asks players in competing groups to unfold chains of amino acids using in-game tools. In this case, those virtual amino acids corresponded to a real-life enzyme that scientists had been trying to decipher for a decade. The gamers created a model in just three weeks. Check it out people. This is something we can do to help science evolve. And have fun in the process. Other related program is Folding@home. An application that is helping scientist discover more about diseases like parkinson's, alzheimer's, and many cancers. All that you need to do is install the application and 'lend' your processor power to them, so they can use that power, in addition to thousands maybe millions of other users, and possibly supercomputers, to fasten the process. This can help find a cure for hundreds of diseases people! look at the possibilities.
Moving on to some not-so-serious business, some dance material. This krump Vs Turf battle is so sick.. omagawd. When this Retro guy starts he does an awesome stunt like his head comes off. It's so perfectly executed. I was blown away by that single move. Oh ans Tight eyez is The Creator of the Krumping style. He is the father of that genre. The other guy just wanted to show his area's style, Turf, witch is like the bastard brother of popping. Am i being clear? Gewd.
The awesomeness continues in round 2. check that out as well.
The hunt for freshmen continues! and today I scored my first catch! yes, we already got 10 freshmen, but today I got to catch one, hazah! very calm nevertheless, his mom there so I had to show composure, and composure I showed, and at the end he wanted to join the 'initiations', so.. good boy. The bad part of this week has to be the heat that we ''men in black'' or ''bats'' as we ''doctors'' are called in the academic slang, have to endure all day. 3 layers of black clothing (one of them is a cape that could easily be used as a winter sheet in your bed) and a white shirt underneath all that, with the corresponding tie choking you all day. And you can't even use an mp3 player, so you better have a lot of stuff to talk about, or cards to play. Stay tuned for day 3.
It's Epic Meal Time Tuesday! I posted late today as i was waiting to see if today's episode was good enough to jump straight here. but they haven't uploaded it yet so I'll just show you another one of my favorites. The Fast Food Lasagna. It will blow your mind, and your wallet.
Dance shtuff. Let me show you one of my all time favorite routines. Lando Wilkin's Sweet Dreams piece. The only way this could be more awesome is if the 4th guy did the entire thing and not leave at the last moments.
'Aiight, music. I'm in the mood for Swedish House Mafia, and I quite enjoy the new coldplay song. So..
Okay, day one of my week of searching for freshmen at college. Lot's of sophomores at the entry to grab the first one that tries to go in. Tomorrow I expect a lot of people coming to signup. And it's one of the few days where the secretary is open all day long. Lets see how tomorrow goes, as today was a bit boring really. And the worst is that when in the proper academic outfit, one cannot use let's say, an mp3 player. So you can't even listen to some tunes to help the time pass. Nope, just stay where you are and ask anyone that comes by if they are freshmen. Still better than being an actual freshmen and being bossed around.
Moving on. Dance video today. Just look at these kids. There are no words capable of describing the awesomoness of these young boys. And the style is Krumping, it's hard, it's dirty.
amirite?
Sounds. Today I'm showing you one of my favorite Drum&Bass track ever. Nuff said.
